Salisbury District General Hospital

Masterplan

Salisbury DGH Landscape Principles Plan.

Iteriad were appointed as part of the GDA Lead Consultant team to work with Salisbury District NHS Trust to develop a new hospital campus masterplan for the existing site at Salisbury District General Hospital. The site lies approx 3km to the south of Salisbury City Centre surrounded by open countryside that is adjacent to the Wiltshire designated areas of outstanding natural beauty. The project includes a complex phasing process to integrate the new development with the retention of some of the better quality existing buildings such as the main acute building. The existing hospital site consists of a mixture of post war single storey units that are not fit for purpose in a modern hospital environment.

These will be replaced by a new Elective Care Centre and Maternity Unit together with education, research, sciences and a care village.  The public realm masterplan consists of extensive green and blue infrastructure planning together with use of green roofs where possible to maximise the ecological value of the site.
